The park is located in an area known as a potato’s origin center, which was first domesticated here over 7000 years ago, and it hosts the largest in situ diversity of native potato in the world.
The potato park is a biocultural heritage that serves as a sanctuary for the biological and cultural treasures of the communities that make up the park. The farmers of the area continue to transmit the Quechua language, their traditional knowledge, and ancestral practices to their children. They open the doors of their homes and their communities to share and learn with travelers from all over the world. Therefore, is so nice to make amazing activities in this park such as trekking, homestay in the community, sacred valley Biking tour and at the end Machupicchu Inca site.

Welcoming meeting or Pre – trek Briefing.
You will have a thorough briefing with your guide 1 or 2 days before your nice Potato Park Trek. Your guide will meet you at your hotel and you can take this opportunity to ask questions and make any final preparations.


Day 01: Cusco – Pampallacta – Paruparu Community.

The pickup time is around 6 am from your Hotel and then We will drive roughly 2 hours to get to Pampallacta Community which is the beginning of our hike, and during the way you will see very nice landscapes, mountains, local crops, and local communities in the potato park. And before de our hike We will organize our daypack and some more important thing for the hike. The path We will take is very nice and first part is going to be going up around 2 hours to get to the heights point and then you will see amazing lagoons among the mountains. So this segment of the hike will be to see the that grass land area of the Andes after the path is going up and down until to get to kinsaqocha lagoon also We will see some of the Andean births around.
After our amazing hike We will have local family in order to welcome us with their typical clothes and then We will go to have a delicious lunch with the homestay family and after lunch We will have some of homestay activities such as agriculture activities, or free afternoon in the Paruparu Community. Therefore this kind of homestay is definitely sharing the local culture and having that organic food.

Day 02: Paruparu Community – Sacred Valley Biking – Ollanataytambo – Aguas Calientes.

After a delicious breakfast with local family We will say good bye our local family, because after We will get our van and driving around ½ hour to get that point to start with our nice active adventure that is biking around 2 ½ hours until lunch spot and We will have lunch in the sacred valley after driving until to get to Ollantaytambo town in order to explore that incan living town and then to take our train to get to Aguas Calientes and then We will have our accommodations.

- Transportations: Van, bike, train.

- Minimum Altitude: 2000masl.
- Places to visit: Sacred Valley, local maeket Pisac, Chicha house.

Day 03: Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Cusco.

We will have breakfast at your hotel before we take a very early bus (5:30am) driving around 30 minutes to get to Machu Picchu to see the magnificent sunrise. Once there you will be given a 2 hour walking tour of the site. If you have elected to climb Machu Picchu Mountain you will begin the hike at 10 AM. The ticket price for Machu Picchu Mountain is included in the price of your trek. If you are not climbing the mountain you will have free time to explore Machu Picchu before you return to Aguas Calientes by bus. When you arrive in Aguas Calientes you will board the expedition train to Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo you will travel by private van to Cusco and we will drop you off at your hotel. Arrival time in Cusco depends on the time of your train ticket.
