The park is located in an area known as a potato’s origin center, which was first domesticated here over 7000 years ago, and it hosts the largest in situ diversity of native potato in the world.
The potato park is a biocultural heritage that serves as a sanctuary for the biological and cultural treasures of the communities that make up the park. The farmers of the area continue to transmit the Quechua language, their traditional knowledge, and ancestral practices to their children. They open the doors of their homes and their communities to share and learn with travelers from all over the world. Therefore, is so nice to make amazing activities in this park such as trekking, homestay in two communities, sacred valley tour and at end Machupicchu.
OVERVIEW.
- Day 01: Cusco – Cuyo Grande – Potato Park or Pampallacta Community.
- Day 02: Pampallacta – Paruparu.
- Day 03: Paruparu – Sacred Valley Sightseeing – Aguas Calientes.
- Day 04: Machupicchu – Cusco.

WELCOME MEETING.
You will have a thorough briefing with your guide 1 or 2 days before your nice Potato Park Trek. Your guide will meet you at your hotel and you can take this opportunity to ask questions and make any final preparations.


Day 01: Cusco – Cuyo Grande – Pampallacta homestay.

The pickup time from your Hotel is around 7 am and then You will drive toward to Sacred Valley until to get to Cuyo Grande around 1 ½ hours which is the beginning of the hike. So you will organize your daypack together with your Guide after that you will be ready to start your hike. Day one hiking is around 3 hours and during the hike you will see a lot of local houses, local people, potatoes crops, the mountains around, and very nice view. This segment of the hike going to be regular going up also you will take one of our ancestor’s hikes until to get to Potato Park which is Pampalllacta community. So once when you will get to the community you will have a local people in order to welcome you and then you will go with them to have your delicious organic lunch in their local house. After lunch you will have nice local daily activities according the agriculture activity season such as plant, harvest, and some of techniques about agriculture local activities mostly about the potatoes, because you will visit the Park of Potato. And during the night you will have a nice interact experiences cooking, having dinner with the local family.

Day 02: Pampallacta – Paruparu Homestay Comunnity.

After a delicious breakfast in the local house you will be ready to start your second day hike around 4 hours hiking to get next community. During this day you will see a lot of nice mountains and mostly amazing lagoons on the way the hike is going up and down also it going to be to see a lot of fauna or local animal around the lagoons. So once when you will get to the community you will have a nice welcome and then you will go to have another delicious lunch with the local family. After the lunch you will have nice daily routine local activities and also sharing nice experiences with the locals.

Day 03: Paruparu – Sacred Valley Sightseeing – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes.

After a delicious breakfast in the community you will have a moment to say good bye the family and then you will have a van to go toward sacred valley visiting local ceramic place, local market in Pisac, lunch in the restaurant in the sacred valley, visit to Chicha House which is the place located in the sacred valley in order to see the famous Inca Beer and then you will visit the nice incan living town that is Ollantaytambo. After that you will take your train to get to Aguas Calientes you will have your accommodation.

Day 04: Machupicchu – Cusco.

We will have breakfast at your hotel before we take a very early bus (5:30am) driving around 30 minutes to get to Machu Picchu to see the magnificent sunrise. Once there you will be given a 2 hour walking tour of the site.
If you have elected to climb Machu Picchu Mountain you will begin the hike at 10 AM. The ticket price for Machu Picchu Mountain is included in the price of your trek. If you are not climbing the mountain you will have free time to explore Machu Picchu before you return to Aguas Calientes by bus.
When you arrive in Aguas Calientes you will board the expedition train to Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo you will travel by private van to Cusco and we will drop you off at your hotel. Arrival time in Cusco depends on the time of your train ticket.
