Welcome Meeting or Pre-Trek Briefing

You will have a welcome meeting at your hotel with your guide 1 or 2 days before your trek. You can take this opportunity to ask questions and make any final preparations.

Day 1: Cusco – Mollepata – Soraypampa – Soyroqocha.

We will pick you up from your hotel early in the morning and have a beautiful scenic drive of 2 ½ hours duration to Mollepata. At Mollepata we will have breakfast at one of the local houses.
After breakfast we will get back on the road for 1 hour and 45 minutes until we reach Soraypampa, the beginning of the trek. During this portion of the drive we will see our first views of the magnificent Salkantay and Humantay Mountains, as well as observe lush vegetation and fields of local families growing potatoes, quinoa, etc.
At Soraypampa (3,800 m/12,467 ft.) we will meet our support staff, who will pack everything for the trek and load the equipment onto horses. We begin our hike with a visit to the remarkable. Basically this is to visit the nice amazing Umantay lagoon and little practice for our hike that is going to be around 2 ½ hour excursion.
After that expedition, we return to the trailhead and begin the hike to Salkantaypampa. We begin with a gentle 2 hour climb to Salkantaypampa, our lunch spot for the day. We will also see the moraines and the glaciers of Apu Salkantay and Humantay mountains.
After lunch we ascend for two hours to Soyrococha (4,400 m /14,332 ft), our camp for the evening. Humantay Mountain is prominent during this entire segment from Salkantaypampa to Soyrococha.

Day 2: Soyrococha – Salkantay pass – Huayracmachay – Challway.

We will wake up early in the morning and our support staff it going to provide you a cup of coca tea in your tents. Enjoying the breakfast and ready to hike. We will start to hike going up around an hour to get to Salkantay pass (4650m), which the place to have a some nice stories about mount Salkantay and significant of the sacred Coca leaves, and then we will have little hike roughly 20 minutes to see a magnificent turquoise lagoon. After enjoy the views We will descend around 2 hours to get to Huayracmachay and that is the lunch spot.
After our delicious lunch We will walk down roughly 3 ½ hours to get to our campsite, but during this segment We will see the nice beginning of the cloud forest and How is beginning the famous Amazon Jungle. And once when We will arrive at campsite Challway (2800m) you will have the tents all ready.

Day 3: Challway – Playa – Aguas Calientes.

After walking long day 2. We will have gentle hike, this segment is very nice to hike, because We will see amazing Santa Teresa valley and during de way We can see the coffee plantations, bananas and farm of the passion fruit, the path is little up and down to get to our lunch spot.
After a delicious lunch We will catch the local bus around 1 ½ hours to get to Hydroelectric and then We will have around 3 hours hike to Aguas Calientes town this part of the hike is very nice because you will walk just surrounding of Machupicchu finally You will get your accommodation. And during the night ready for the last dinner.

Day 4: Aguas Calientes – Machupicchu – Cusco.

We will have breakfast at your hotel before we take a very early bus (5:30am) driving around 30 minutes to get to Machu Picchu to see the magnificent sunrise. Once there you will be given a 2 hour walking tour of the site.
If you have elected to climb Machu Picchu Mountain you will begin the hike at 10 AM. The ticket price for Machu Picchu Mountain is included in the price of your trek. If you are not climbing the mountain you will have free time to explore Machu Picchu before you return to Aguas Calientes by bus.
When you arrive in Aguas Calientes you will board the expedition train to Ollantaytambo. From Ollantaytambo you will travel by private van to Cusco and we will drop you off at your hotel. Arrival time in Cusco depends on the time of your train ticket.
